SunIRef:Sales:title Healthcare Industry Sales Strategist Gordon Food Service Grand Rapids, MI 49512 Are you a strategic thinker with expertise in the Healthcare market? Are you an experienced sales leader with an understanding of the competitive landscape and market analysis in the healthcare industry? We have an outstanding opportunity! In collaboration with the Healthcare Strategic Account Manager, develops and implements the healthcare sales growth strategy for both the annual and long range plans. Provides effective leadership, direction, and training to encourage growth and development of the national sales teams relative to the segment. Serves as a segment customer operational and financial subject matter expert for the national healthcare sales team, and represents GFS at national healthcare industry-related events. Essential Functions: National Business Developer Support: Provides comprehensive analysis, incorporating the customer, market, and competitor perspectives to proactively drive informed business decisions for potential growth opportunities. Engages in relationship building with potential accounts Provides presentation development and delivery for new business opportunities, incorporating industry knowledge and GFS capabilities pertinent to the customer. Supports key national account roll-out, as needed. Participates in initial business planning, and follow-up sessions for first year. National Account Manager Support: Engages in relationship building with accounts Participates in business planning meetings for key accounts (chains and GPOs). Provides comprehensive analysis, incorporating the customer, market, and competitor perspectives to proactively drive informed business decisions for account operational optimization and for potential growth opportunities for GFS. In collaboration with the corporate account and the NAM, establish account goals for next 3-12 months; identifying opportunities for GFS support. Conducts operational and financial review of accounts, as requested, in order to identify operational optimization opportunities. Works with account and HARs to implement agreed operational/financial modifications. Industry: Enhances ongoing expertise and GFS visibility through representation of GFS at national industry events, GPO Conferences, national advocacy, board positions, and select customer interactions in order to position GFS as a key, knowledgeable and reputable industry expert. Presents at national or regional healthcare conferences GFS: Cultivates positive, professional and interpersonal relationships across Home office and Divisions. Maintains knowledge of and integrates the customer segments' current and long-term business needs and leverages those needs against available resources. Drives innovation for positive business changes. Provides operational training and guidance to the Division NCBSS/ HC Specialists. Develops capital and operational budget for the department. Routinely monitors, manages and controls budget, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action and develops plans for productivity improvements. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Knowledge of Healthcare Industry regulations, reimbursement programs (i.e. Medicare, Medicaid) C-Suite and Senior level networking experience within the Healthcare Industry including, but not limited to, Healthcare Conferences Presentation experience as an industry subject matter expert, especially within the Healthcare Industry network (conferences) Expertise in creating, developing, and presenting to industry leaders, including National Account Customers Marketing analysis, goal-setting, and strategic planning experience in collaboration with leadership Essential to have a high level of self management - self direction, distraction, repetition, prioritization, fluctuations in workload, ambiguity, etc. Track record of successful relationships both internally and externally Experience in development and management of capital and operational budgets Food Service operational leadership experience is required (healthcare or non-healthcare -related) Experience in training & development specific to the industry Equipment / Tools / Technology: Desktop or Laptop computer Telephone with voicemail Networked copier/printer/facsimile Google Apps (Chrome, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.) Education: Bachelors degree required Minimum Years of Experience: Ten years previous experience, with progressive experience in both the healthcare industry and foodservice operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
