Job Description
This is a multi-disciplinary position and a key component of the Mt
Pleasant Transportation Service Center (TSC) team. Performs or
participates in a variety of professional engineering
responsibilities involving the TSC and Region functions of design,
construction, maintenance, traffic and safety, soils, and materials
control and testing of transportation facilities. Assists with
project scoping and estimating for maintenance and construction
work, scoping and preparing projects for the call-for-projects
(CFP) process, design plan preparation, utility coordination, and
other duties as assigned. Assists the TSC team in technical
work.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate
at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the experienced
(P11) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be
reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

Possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering OR will
obtain by August 31, 2023.

Transportation Engineer 10
One year of professional engineering experience involved in
transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation
Engineer 9.
Transportation Engineer P11
Two years of professional engineering experience involved in
transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation
Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation
Engineer 10.
Alternate Education and Experience
Transportation Engineer 9 - P11
Possession of a registered professional engineer license as
required by the State of Michigan may be substituted for 6 months
of experience at the Transportation Engineer 9-P11 levels. This
substitution may only be used once for any employee for
qualification of appointment or early reclassification.

Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive
between15 and 35 personal daysand13 sick daysper year that may be

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take12 weeks of paid
leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time
together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays
