Shift: 2nd/3rd Shift - Hours May Be Negotiable

Reports to: Building and Grounds Manager

Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Prefer 3-5 years of experience in commercial skilled trades (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) and related education/trade school completion.

Description: Individual needed to join Facilities Management staff in maintaining the Ottawa Area ISD buildings in efficient and safe operating condition so full use of facilities is available at all times.

Desired skills:

---Ability to monitor HVAC controls via a BAS system

---Basic knowledge of Ohms Law

---Basic plumbing skills

---Knowledge of hydronic heating pumps, including boiler & chiller plants

---Basic knowledge of Federal & State building codes

---Ability to read electrical & mechanical schematics, as well as building blueprints

---Strong communication skills

Duties include, but not limited to:

---Recommends guidelines, equipment and necessary building modifications to best comply with established safety standards

---Scheduling and coordination of maintenance operations

---Maintains equipment, tools, and supplies inventories

---Maintains buildings and equipment by following a Preventative Maintenance schedule

---All work performed must be in compliance with State Building Code for school operations

---On call responsibilities

Job Type: Regular/Hourly

Schedule: Full-Time

Compensation: Grade Level 15.
