be done.Position Summary:The Shape Corp student engineering program
provides students with the opportunity to work in multiple
engineering functional areas: IPEX (Industrial Process Equipment
Experts, Tooling Equipment Design and Standards, Technical
Manufacturing Engineering, Program Launch, and Product Development.
Depending on individual interest and company need, the student will
have the opportunity to work in multiple functional areas.Essential
Job Functions include, but not limited to, the
following:Application of engineering calculationsProficient with
Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook,
etc.Manage projects across multiple disciplines within ShapeCreate
technical documents summarizing data analysis and
conclusionsAbility to present technical informationIPEX
RotationIPEX Roadmaps- participate in development and maintenance
of Industrial process roadmaps used in Shape's core
technologiesRoll FormingWelding (mig, laser, spot, drawn arc,
projection, sonic, IR, hotplate)Injection molding and
secondariesFastening Collaborative RoboticsCutting, deburring,
millingMaintenanceAluminum extrusions secondary Aluminum
applications.Roadmap Audit- Participate in process and equipment
audits to calculate adherence to corporate standards, understand
deviations and aid in action plan creation to drive continuous
improvements.Best Practice - Help with global best practice
creation and maintenance of best practice libraries.Lessons Learned
-Aid in capturing, lessons learned of Shape core processes.
Participate in maintenance of storage systems, and sharing of
lessons learned with global community.Tooling and Equipment Design
StandardsTraining and use of PDM storage system for
product/equipment drawing updates and storageTraining and work in
Plex system to participate in development and maintenance of global
standards.Training and use of Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Draftsight
softwareParticipate in Tooling and Equipment build manuals,
Supplier statement of work documentation development, maintenance,
and storage.Support continuous improvement projectsProgram
LaunchUse of check fixtures and gages to evaluate part quality and
process stability.Review and interpret CMM data to evaluate part
dimensions.Read, interpret, and mark up part drawings as
needed.Support engineering change process by marking up drawings,
participating in manufacturing feasibility reviews, and supporting
prototype builds.Technical Manufacturing Engineering RotationStudy
and implement equipment design improvementsStudy and define optimum
processing windowsDocument and present all study findings via
reports and/or operator instructionsIntroduction to Six Sigma and
problem solving using the DMAIC processStatistical analysis
including DoEProduct Development Engineering RotationLead and
manage a product development project as part of a business unit
team.Interpret and apply customer technical requirements to product
development process.Apply appropriate engineering tools and
evaluate inputs for product design (engineering calculations,
parametric models, design standards, CAE, test results, DFMEA,
lessons learned, DVP R, RSS analysis, design for
manufacturing)Complete technical reports and presentations for
internal and external audiencesAdditional duties as assigned by the
supervisor, not otherwise specified in this position
description.RequirementsEducation Experience* Currently pursuing a
bachelor's degree within an accredited program seeking degree in
Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other relevant science or
engineering field.* 3.0 GPA or higher on 4.0 GPA scale, strongly
preferred.* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications,
including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.* Able to work independently
and with a team.* Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.* Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving
skills.
