Lead Host
Dining Services - Main Dining Room
Porter Hills Village

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus*

Status: Full-time, 40 hours/bi-week
Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Schedule: 5 shifts/week,will include every other weekend and holiday rotation

  • Annual Increases Job Summary:

    The primary purpose of the Host is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. The host works with Team Members from the kitchen and servers to create a pleasant dining experience for all. As the Host, you will ensure the water, coffee, soup, and other items at the Side Stations are stocked and ready for service prior to mealtimes. The Host assists servers in building trays, setting tables, bringing out food/pouring drinks, as needed. During mealtimes, the Host greats and seats residents and assists with pouring/getting any drinks.

    Following Lunch, the Host assists with wiping down all chairs, trays and carts that were used, prepares carts for night room deliveries, and assist with preparing for dinner services. During this time, your supervisor may ask you to assist with special projects or in a different area, as needed. Finally, during the dinner mealtime, the host will do many of the same task that were performed during lunch - greeting, seating, assisting servers, and clean up. A full job description will be provided up hire and request; other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Knowledge
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
    • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
    • Function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with older adults, personnel, and support organizations
    • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.Core Competencies

      Required Qualification
      • High School diploma or GED
      • Must be at a minimum eighteen (18) years of age All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, professional reference checks, TB screen and physical assessment at time of hire. In addition, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or agreement to participate in weekly Covid testing and/or approved exemption is required.

        NOTE: The rate of pay will be determined based on relevant employment experience. Your resume should adequately reflect all paid dining services experience.
