What's This Job All About? The Retirement Plan Business Development Officer will be responsible for originating new business within an assigned geographic area in order to facilitate the continued growth of the company. Employ strong client service and consultative selling skills to grow Greenleaf Trust's Retirement Plan client base throughout Michigan. This individual will promote Greenleaf Trust's visibility through participation in community events and organizations. What You'll Be Doing Principal Accountabilities:New Business Development

  • Generate new business by calling on prospects, referral sources and centers of influence to facilitate new business in the areas of retirement plans and, secondarily, within personal wealth management, family office, and endowment/foundation services.
  • Represent Greenleaf Trust at community and charitable functions, relevant industry events/conferences, financial planning functions and social events.
  • Develop and maintain a network of attorneys, accountants and other centers of influence to facilitate referrals.
  • Collaborate with other Greenleaf Trust business development resources throughout the company.
  • Provide continuous support to new clients throughout the account transfer process.
  • Transfer relationship to Retirement Plan Client Centric Team in a manner as to assure smooth transition for the client, maintaining availability to answer questions or provide information during the process and for a sufficient period of time afterwards to ensure a positive relationship.
  • Actively participate in sales team meetings.
  • Actively participate in event-driven marketing activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.Support Greenleaf Team MembersWork effectively and supportively with Retirement Plan Division team members to ensure the smooth opening of new account relationships. Work closely with other division team members to support client needs.Track prospect activities and client communications in CRM system.Continuing EducationParticipate in continuing education opportunities in qualified plans, tax, and IRA areas to remain current with new developments in the industry.Committees Actively participate in assigned workgroup(s) for various projects.What You Need for this Position:Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years' experience selling financial services or related intangible products or equivalent education and experienceValid Driver's License
