team:We plan and manage projects within a data center. We manage
projects to move and install new equipment for new clients, move
equipment among company data centers and/or refresh hardware.NOTE:
This position is on hybrid schedule. 2 or 3 days onsite & 2 days
remote.What you will be doing:
- Oversees the installation/de-installation and maintenance of
data processing equipment, e.g., mainframes, printers, disk storage
platforms, servers and network components, etc.
- Plans and implements vendor changes to infrastructure and
computing environment.
- Executes or oversees the installation and preventative
maintenance efforts as specified in plans and documentation.
- Sets up and configures moderately complex equipment
configurations.
- Analyzes the infrastructure capacity of installed equipment and
makes recommendations based on results of analysis.
- Manages and coordinates day-to-day building/facility and space
utilization activities, e.g., space allocation, facility security,
outage prevention.
- Monitors environmental and safety conditions and takes
appropriate action in the event of a problem or emergency.
- Protects equipment and conducts orderly shutdowns before a
disaster, conducts damage assessment following a disaster and
rebuilds/repairs site as needed and brings equipment back into a
status that is operational for production processing.
- Develops and maintains supporting documentation and reports as
required.
- Large data center consolidation/move projects may be managed by
a Project or Program Manager with sub-projects and activities
managed by the Hardware Planner.
- Other related duties assigned as needed.
What you will need:
- In-depth knowledge of multiple hardware
technologies/architectures
- Experience with Copper & Fiber Structure Cabling, patching &
power.
- Solid working knowledge of data center environments and
infrastructure, AutoCAD, network and telecommunications protocols
and platforms and disaster recovery
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical
and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization,
e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
- Excellent analysis, problem-solving, organizational, team
building, conflict management and time management skills
- Excellent judgment and decision-making with regards to
potential impact to computer and business operations
- Ability to react quickly and appropriately to operational
exceptions such as equipment failures
- Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or
moderately complex projects and ensure successful completion
- Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and
sharing ideas
- Must be available for on call support 24/7 of the critical
infrastructure
- While performing job duties, may be exposed to high noise
levels, is frequently required to stand, bend, and kneel and
