POSITION SUMMARY The Vice President of Analytics and Accountability plays a critical role in supporting and improving operations through a deeper understanding and analysis of key performance and operational data. This role is a key member of NHA’s executive team and is responsible for strategic competitive analysis, educational research, learning measurement and analytics, state accountability, business intelligence and data visualization. This role manages a comprehensive, talented team of professionals and reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Hire, develop, and lead a 20+ member analytics group including data warehousing, reporting, research, and analysis.

Oversee the development of core analytical models for the organization including descriptive, predictive, and causal models.

Create a roadmap for actionable intelligence and reporting impacting the organization’s learning and enrollment outcomes.

Curate NHA’s research agenda, align it to organizational objectives, prioritize and refine its scope, and oversee the statistical analysis to support reliable insights.

Review school evaluation models and frameworks employed by state agencies, describe their technical characteristics, and provide operational guidance to maximize school performance against these models.

Oversee the development and operations of NHA’s quality audit group.

Manage NHA’s strategic analysis function including competitive analysis, external research, and partnerships.

Liaise as necessary with state agencies regarding the statistical analysis of school performance, the technical characteristics of evaluation of models, and best practices in program evaluation.

Support the organization through the development of its data warehouse as a strategic asset.

Provide innovative analysis and approaches to support NHA’s human capital and enrollment analytics functions.

In concert with the CEO and the Executive Team, participate in the development of the Company’s strategic plan; implement change necessary to support strategic initiatives while preserving/cultivating the company’s unique, positive culture.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Graduate degree in qualitative and quantitative measurement, educational statistics, or learning sciences, required (Ph.D. preferred)

Business background and training preferred.

At least eight years prior experience leading a team with responsibility for the full continuum of business intelligence (measurement, data warehousing, data visualization, analysis, prescription, and prediction) in the private or public sector.

Expertise in the attributes of various statistical models including value-added models, growth models, common variations of regression analysis (OLS, logistic, spline, etc.), factor analysis, SEM, etc.

Technical proficiency in statistical programming (Python, SAS, etc.), data visualization (Tableau), and statistical analysis platforms (SAS, Python, R, Stata, etc.).

A point-of-view on the systematic collection, analysis, reporting and application of data to improve organizational processes and outcomes.

Experience with application of data in an educational setting, and strongly preferred experience in a charter school setting (state agencies, authorizers, educational management companies).

Familiarity with the field of learning measurement, including current offerings in standardized assessments (formative, summative, and diagnostic assessments).

Experience and/or familiarity with applied social science research specifically methods, models, and advances made in the research of education and learning outcomes.

Demonstrated experience partnering with businesspeople and educators and systematically using data to drive educational or business outcomes.

Is financially savvy and politically astute, with the ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems.

Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making.

Excellent coalition building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions.

Outstanding presentation and communication skills with the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokesperson and relationship builder.
