Job Descriptioni3 Business Solutions is looking for an experienced IT Support Technician for System and Network Administration with a Client Management role. This person will join the i3 service team and provide technical support, management of our different client environments, along with some project and consulting services.i3 is a Managed Service Provider providing technology solutions to small businesses across West Michigan. This role is primarily customer-facing, providing a "Network Administrator" type oversight role to multiple client environments. This includes developing a deep understanding of the client environments you are responsible for, providing change management guidance to our support team and some lite consulting for changes and improvements needed for the clients. People and communication skills in this role are critical as you interface between the rest of the i3 team and our client. More about this role:Technical ability: Microsoft server environments are big, but also VMware and some HyperV. Be ready to support these, as well as anything else you'd find in a mid-sized business network. If you're looking for keywords, please consider Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization clusters, SAN, NAS, Office 365, O365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, SQL, Linux, StorageCraft, Veam, WatchGuard, Cisco, Meraki, QoS, VLANs, firewalls, routing, and wireless. Vendor management skills are a plus to ensure finger-pointing does not occur during problem solving and projects. Cloud consulting skills are a plus as well. Knowledge of all these types of systems is not a requirement, but a qualified candidate should have well-rounded experience in several of these areas.Personality: From within i3, you need to get along with the service team, so be ready to interview with several of them. The i3 support team consists of technicians who care about the systems they support and the people behind those businesses. This is not a heads-down environment. We select for the skill of human interaction. Any technician at the company must be able to interact positively with all. While the majority of work may be done over the phone, onsite client visits are also part of the job. Reliability: Be dependable. Account for your work. Do an excellent job even though no one has asked you to do so. Be able to operate independently. Performance is a priority at i3 - as is the customer experience. Join the i3 social committee and help plan our next company event!This position is approximately 25% remote HelpDesk support and 75% customer-facing, with expected travel to client locations as needed (80% in the greater GR area). Expected duties could include: PC installation/replacement, onsite triage/troubleshooting, light project work (firewall, switch, wireless troubleshooting, replacements), etc. Job expectations include:

  • 3+ years of experience in the technology support field
  • Ability to handle the technical requirements of i3's Level 2-3 support issues, including escalated tickets from Level 1-2
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Must present well to clients, at all levels of a company
  • Receives positive client feedback
  • Provide an expert-level, high-quality support experience for all
  • Can provide onsite triage and issue identification
  • Has working experience with servers, virtualization, Active Directory, storage, firewalls, switching and vlans
  • Has appropriate industry certifications, examples of certifications include Microsoft MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, VMware VCAP/VCDX/VCP-DCV, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, etc.
    • This job is full-time salary. Additional roles or positions for the i3 Support Center Help Desk, Field Technicians, or as a project technician. The pay scale is based on your level of experience. The more of the above abilities you possess, the higher your value to our clients, our team, and i3. At this time, we are not looking for entry-level experience - this job is targeting "level 2" or "level 3", those with hands-on industry experience of three years or more. Benefits:
