Fleis & VandenBrink (F&V) is a highly successful, growth-oriented civil and environmental engineering/architectural firm that provides a wide range of services to municipal, industrial, institutional, commercial, private development, and state agency clients throughout Michigan and Indiana.We are seeking a Technical Recruiter to join our HR team. This is a key role in our growth strategy to support our current and future clients and co-workers. This person should embody our core principles – "understand our customers and satisfy their needs, do what we say we are going to do and have fun." Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the talent acquisition process, which includes sourcing candidates, interviewing, and hiring of qualified applicants, particularly for engineering, operations, and professional roles.
  • Collaborate with group managers and/or hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Partner with hiring managers to prioritize current and upcoming hiring needs, build and execute recruitment strategies, and drive the recruitment process.
  • Develop talent pipelines for critical & recurring roles. Foster relationships with active and passive candidates.
  • Travel to colleges/tech schools, high schools, recruiting fairs, etc. to promote F&V employment opportunities.
  • Responsible for developing recruiting action plans for increasing company industry exposure.
  • Innovate effective ideas for streamlining the recruitment process and practices to secure top talent.
  • Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations
  • Identify trends and metrics strategies to attract candidates for highly specialized and difficult-to-attract positions, while actively advocating diversity recruitment plans.
  • Meets regularly with management to evaluate recruiting efforts, identify barriers, redirect activities, and/or initiate new activities to accomplish established staffing goals and objectives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. The Ideal candidate will possess the following:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 3+ years of full cycle recruiting experience.
    • Proven track record of sourcing and placing high performing professionals.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and strong judgment, while having strong presentation skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
