$5,000 Sign-On Bonus

Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time, 40 hours/week

Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm and 7:00am - 3:30pm

Schedule: 5 shifts per week, every weekend and holiday rotations required;

*Team Members that accept a part-time position in this role are eligible for the $4000 Commitment Bonus program, prorated based on hire date.

    The position of the Dining Services Cook is to prepare food in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations with our established policies and procedures, and as maybe directed by the Lead Cook, Executive Chef, Community Director, Senior and/or Director of Dining Services to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

    As the Cook, you are responsible for preparing, handling, and delivering food according to the nutritional needs/preference of the residents. This position provides food and high-quality customer service to residents, families, guests, and personnel while maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation, and safety. The position of Dining Services Cook to additional perform all job duties and assigned tasks as directed/instructed and in accordance with established dining policies and procedures of regulated state and federal agencies. A full job description will be supplied upon hire and upon request.

    Skills and Knowledge
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
    • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
    • Function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with older adults, personnel, and support organizations

      Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Prior experience as a short order cook experience in a restaurant, caf, food service kitchen or other related environment All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, professional reference checks, TB screen and physical assessment at time of hire. In addition, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or agreement to participate in weekly Covid testing and/or approved exemption is required.

      Desired Qualifications

    • Culinary Education.
    • ServSafe Certification
    • Two (2)+ years of short order cook experience in a restaurant, caf, food service kitchen or other related environment
    • Prior work experience in Dietary department at a Retirement Community Disclaimer
