Job Description:
Job DescriptionPosition Summary:Assist guests of the resort by
performing the following duties: greets and registers guests upon
arrival and checks guests out in a speedy and correct manner, while
providing outstanding guest service. Gives guests direction and
should have complete knowledge of the resort and surrounding area.
Assists with management of the operations of the front desk and
bell staff to maintain the high service standards of Shanty Creek
Resorts. Responsible for the smooth operation of the front office
regarding guest relations. Coordinates front office activities and
resolves problems arising from guest complaints, reservation and
room assignment activities, and unique requests and inquiries.
Responsible for maintaining and enforcing all resort
billing/accounting controls. Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greet, register and assign rooms to guests. Issue room keys and
give instructions to bell staff.
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of
guests, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel
directions.
- Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts.
- Compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guest.
- Make and confirm reservations when needed.
- Post charges to room account.
- Assist guests in making reservations for the restaurant,
transportation, entertainment, and tee times.
- Deposit guest valuables in hotel safe or safe deposit box.
- Use guest name and treat all guests as members.
- Attend to guests needs and wants to make their stay a
pleasure.
- Answer house phones within three rings.
- Know all safety and emergency procedures and how to act upon
them.
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
- Log all housekeeping and maintenance calls and input work
orders into the system.
- Answer PBX phones as assigned.
- Work with the Director of Lodging to ensure that the guest
check-in and check-out processes and all other guest interactions
involving SCR guests meeting the highest levels of service
quality.
- Assign duties and shifts to workers and observe associate
performances to ensure adherence to hotel policies and establish
operating procedures. Control labor and expenses based on budget
and current business levels.
- Confer and cooperate with other resort departments to ensure
coordination of activities.
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and
services.
- Hire, schedule, train, evaluate, and discipline Front Desk
Clerks and Bell Staff to ensure that staff is assisting guests in a
prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Responsible for effective guest relations and guest
service.
- Review group reservation and billing files for accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality on guest, associate and resort
manners.
- All other duties as assigned.Professional Experience:3 to 6
months of customer service experience is preferred, training
provided. Education:Must be enrolled in college coursework related
to Hospitality. Required Skills:Must possess a valid driver's
license. Working Conditions/Environment:The physical demands and
