DENTAL ASSISTANT APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY The Family
Health Center is looking to grow our own Dental Assistants from the
amazing community that we serve in Kalamazoo. If you are looking

Assistant Apprenticeship program provides you with a steady
paycheck while attending classes to prepare you to become a Dental
Assistant. The classroom setting is not like one anywhere else. You
will learn hands on right alongside our experienced Dental
Assistants. The combination of classroom learning and hands-on
experience will poise you for success! UPON COMPLETION OF THE
DENTAL ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO: Accurately
document required information in patient charts. Administer
treatments as requested by the Dentist and sterilize of
instruments. Set up and assist Dentist with procedures, schedule
outside tests or procedures for patients in other departments of
facilities and prepare patients for tests/procedures by providing
appropriate instructions. Coordinate referrals, call in
prescriptions and stock exam rooms with supplies as needed.
Schedule appointments within our medical records system and have
the knowledge to become a Dental Assistant. EXPECTATIONS OF OUR
STUDENTS: Commitment to being 100% present at all sessions. Commit
to a three-year employment contract with the Family Health Center.
Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and background
check. Reliable transportation, Functional competency in reading,
writing, and math. Good time management, critical thinking, and
interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving and
trouble-shooting abilities. High school diploma or GED. Apply today
