Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Medical Surgical ICU (MSICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of SICU experience License: Active State License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS, Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: Skills Checklist current to 1 year pertinent to the specialty (ICU), 2 Supervisory Reference Forms Completed within the last two years Description: This position performs a variety of integrated pre and post-operative critical care functions. The nursing process is applied while utilizing a broad nursing knowledge in a caring and concerned manner. Responsibilities include assessing the patient for physical, emotional, psychosocial, and family support. The position involves organizing and coordinating all aspects of patient care according to the patient's real and/or perceived needs. Evaluating patient progress is essential by correlating patient information with nursing knowledge to determine if goals are being met according to the patient's plan of care. Consultation and collaboration with members of the healthcare team is necessary in planning and implementing total patient care for individuals.
