Position available in the Intermediate Care Center. Shifts are
scheduled for nights, 3 shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30. Call
is not required, but there is an option to pick up extra shifts if
desired. May float to sister units as necessary. Holidays require
one holiday worked during a 13-week assignment. Every other weekend
is required. Travelers are permitted to call off twice per
assignment. If a traveler calls off a third time, unit management
will determine next steps regarding the contract. The
patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4-5 based on acuity levels.
Certification in ACLS and BLS is required. Local candidates are not
accepted; candidates must be from outside a 50-mile radius. Pending
licenses are accepted, provided they are active by the start date.
Special requirements include experience in telemetry and IV starts.
This is a short-term acute facility with a total of 244 staffed
beds. The charting system used is Cerner. Nursing duties include
caring for high-acuity patients with various medical conditions.
Expected patient diagnoses include respiratory issues, endocrine
disorders, sepsis, and substance withdrawal. There are
interdisciplinary support services available such as IV teams,
physical therapy, and respiratory services. The unit handles
non-titrated cardiac drips and insulin protocols. Travelers must
adhere to compliance guidelines for time off requests and are
required to complete training modules prior to start. Professional
conduct is taken seriously, and any issues may result in immediate
