Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Kalamazoo, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,074 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Kalamazoo, Michigan, 49007! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Required; ACLS Preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience preferred Accepts first-time travelers Description: Desired start date is February 9, 2026. 36 or 48-hour weeks available, please notate preference when applying. Weekend shifts will be every other weekend. No call requirements. May need to float to other medical/surgical departments as needed. Patient population includes general medical and surgical adult patients. Cardiac patients on antiarrhythmic drips will also be cared for. Neuro patients post-TIA/CVA will be part of the care responsibility. Nurses maintain antiarrhythmic medication drips and insulin drips for DKA. Nurses perform NIHSS assessments. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed at this time. Equipment and software utilized in the unit include remote and wall-mount telemetry, bladder scanner, vein light, iPop, and electronic charting software. The unit has 18 beds with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6. Dress code is hunter green scrubs. The unit serves stable adult medical/surgical and cardiac populations. There is a mix of inpatient, observation, and clinical decision unit patients. Staff work closely with a multidisciplinary group of providers. The focus is on delivering patient-family centered care. The goal includes facilitating discharges and throughput to help manage emergency department load. Lab work should be completed within 48-72 hours of signing the contract. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate without radius restrictions. Travelers will be the first to float to other areas when needed. Proof of flu vaccination is required. If seeking an exemption for the flu vaccine, it must be submitted promptly. Modules are conducted during orientation and completed annually.
