Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Experience in patient ratios of 6-7 Charting system experience required Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in the medical surgical/telemetry unit. The shift is nights, requiring a commitment to work three 12-hour shifts per week. Every other weekend is required. Holiday requirements include working every other holiday. You will be responsible for a patient ratio typically ranging from 1:5-6, with potential increases to 1:7. Team support with new personnel onboarding regularly will help manage workload effectively. Experience within this unit involves caring for patients with conditions related to trauma surgery, post-surgical recovery, and various medical issues. You should be comfortable with telemetry and managing various medical equipment. Daily census on the unit typically hovers around 40 patients, spanning across a 46-bed capacity. Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is integral for patient care. Specific skills required include managing cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and various post-operative care tasks.
