Job Description:
Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Healthcare

Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License:
CRT-Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) or
CRT-Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) Certifications:
BLS, CBSPD, or CRCST Must-Have: Successful completion of a
competency-based orientation program Excellent written and verbal
communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Time management
and organizational skills Ability to make quality, independent
decisions Analytical and strong problem-solving skills Ability to
work effectively under tight deadlines Ability to maintain strict
confidentiality Competency in the use of various computer hardware
and software Description: Responsible for inspecting, disinfecting,
assembling, processing, and distributing patient care instruments
and equipment. Acts as a role model and resource to peers and other
members of the healthcare team. Stores and ensures all instruments
and supplies are correctly labeled. Cleans soiled instruments and
equipment utilizing appropriate personal protection equipment.
Inspects and tests instruments to ensure proper functioning.
Utilizes mechanical and digital validation tools to ensure that
proper sterilization occurs. Strives for zero defects in
processing. Ensures proper processing of equipment, instruments,
and supplies. Prioritizes workload according to medical and
surgical needs. Accurately differentiates the functionality of
instruments. Monitors performance of sterilizers and other
equipment, filling out repair requisitions as necessary. Handles
customer area requests in an efficient and professional manner.
Participates in safety initiatives and completes all safety-related
competencies on time. Performs other duties as assigned.
