Job Description The Cancer Genetics Program at Corewell Health West is seeking a Section Chief who is a board certified / board eligible in Medical Genetics or Oncology to lead and continue to develop this program in West Michigan. The clinical position offers an exciting opportunity for the physician to play an important role in the continued growth and serve as an instrumental leader in supporting advancement. The Section Chief responsibilities and performance expectations are set forth in the following categories: Leadership Growth Quality, Safety & Clinical Innovation Development of People Patient Service and Perception of Care Finance Academic and Faculty Affairs This role will involve evaluation of patients at risk for hereditary cancer conditions, reviewing options and making recommendations for risk reduction, prevention and treatment, as well as the potential to follow high-risk patients long term. This physician will work alongside genetic counselors with master's degrees in the specialty, a highly trained oncology team located within West Michigan, and collaborate with other genetics physicians. Practice Description: The physicians and APPs are members of The Corewell Health Medical Group, a growing, physician-led, multispecialty practice. The genetics division includes a team of highly specialized biochemical and medical genetics physicians (7) a nurse practitioner (1), dietitians (3), genetic counselors (21), genetic counseling assistants (4), nurses, medical assistants, and other support staff. The group is dedicated to supporting the mission of Corewell Health including education, clinical services, research and other scholarly activity, and advocacy.
