Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Healthcare Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) or Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) Certifications: BLS, CBSPD or CRCST Must-Have: - High School Diploma or equivalent - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program - Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills - Strong time management and organizational skills - Ability to make quality, independent decisions - Analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines - Competency in the use of various computer hardware and software systems Description: Responsible for inspecting, disinfecting, assembling, processing, and distributing patient care instruments, equipment, and supplies. Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards. Acts as a role model and resource to peers and other members of the healthcare team. Stores, rotates, and ensures that all instruments and supplies are correctly labeled. Cleans soiled instruments and equipment while utilizing appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE). Inspects and tests instruments and equipment to ensure proper functioning. Utilizes mechanical and digital validation tools to ensure proper sterilization. Strives for zero defects in processing. Monitors performance of sterilizers and other processing equipment. Handles customer area requests efficiently and professionally. Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes all safety-related competencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
