Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or
compact state) - BLS Certification (required before first shift) -
ACLS Certification (required before first shift) - 2 years of
recent Med/Surg bedside clinical experience highly desired - Strong
assessment, documentation, and communication skills Med/Surg RN
Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for
all patients within 8 hours of admission - Develop and implement
individualized care plans with patients, families, and the
interdisciplinary healthcare team - Deliver direct patient care
utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning,
implementation, and evaluation - Accurately document all
assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic
medical record - Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and
discharge planning from admission - Communicate changes in patient
status to the clinical care team to ensure safety and continuity -
Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified
Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff - Maintain a safe
environment for patients and staff, following hospital safety
policies and procedures - Support team building and a collaborative
work environment within the Med/Surg unit - Engage in ongoing
professional development and continuing education for nursing
