Senior Electrical Engineer - Healthcare - Grand Rapids,
Michigan
DISHER is currently partnering with a national architectural and
engineering firm that is seeking to add a Senior Healthcare
Electrical Engineer to their team. In this role, you will take a
leadership role in building the practice together with leadership;
designing and developing electrical systems holistically and
conceptually; generating and translating electrical systems into
final solutions for healthcare and research building types.

What you will get to do:
- Ensure the overall design intent of the project is incorporated
into detailed documentation
- Act as an expert in the technical aspects of the electrical
design including code compliance, specifications, system
integration, and constructability
- Work cross-functionally to create project scope and budget,
provide quality assurance, conduct work sessions and meetings,
troubleshoot issues, and prepare project documentation
- Create and maintain a positive relationship of trust with
Client Leadership
- Attend site visits to resolve issues encountered in the
field
- Mentor, train, and direct the work of team members
- Coordinate the work of the electrical design team through the
schematic design development and construction document phase of a
project.
- Review completed reports, submittals, drawings, estimates, and
calculations for accuracy
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various
governing agencies for code compliance
- Prepare building models, detailed contract documents,
construction documents, photometric simulations, arc flash, and
specifications consistent with company standards What will make you
successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
education experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer with current license
- 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience with a
variety of project types
- Experience independently designing power distribution,
lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and communications for
large, complex tasks
- Experience producing construction drawings and specifications
and knowledge of electrical standards and regulations
- Ability to coordinate and integrate work with architects,
designers, engineers, construction administrators, consultants, and
authorities
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects while working
professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD
- Must have the current and continuing right to work in the
United States of America without restrictions or expirations
