Job Description:
This RN position will work on our Older Adult Unit.
PineRest offers a full continuum of behavioral health services and
is the thirdlargest non-profit behavioral health system in the
United States. Ourcomprehensive behavioral health center located in
Grand Rapids, Michigan offerspsychiatric urgent care, outpatient,
inpatient, partial hospitalization (dayprograms), assessment and
testing, residential, addiction treatment andspecialty services
such as crisis response, employee assistance programs,forensic
psychiatry and psychology, neuromodulation and more.
An RN is responsible and accountable to perform thenursing process
as a basis for patient care. RNs provide direction and oversight to
other licensed and non-licensedstaff. Pine Rest RNs show compassion
torecipients of services, coworkers, and surrounding communities
throughintegrity, stewardship, empowerment, the promotion of
diversity, andprofessional excellence. The Registered Nurse must
demonstrate excellentcustomer service and have enthusiasm about the
program and the Pine Restorganization.
Responsibilities:
- Assessesperson's served care needs, develops a plan of care in
collaboration with aninterdisciplinary team, and continually
reassesses plan of care according to person'sserved care needs
- Incollaboration with the physician, provides/coordinates
nursing care toindividuals and groups of person's served
- Assistsin the teaching of persons' served families, and
provides milieu management.Communicates with and educates persons'
served families/significant others indischarge/after care planning
needs
- Providesa safe and secure environment for persons served and
staff in both individualand group settings
- Responsiblefor documenting, reporting, and verifying all
necessary information accordingto established policies and
procedures
- Responsible to monitor for and report to the physician(s)any
potential risk to person's served safety that could lead to an
adverseoutcome
- Createsa customer/client friendly environment by following
quality improvementstandards, maintaining professionalism,
initiating and maintaining positiverelationships with
departments/programs, co-workers and external customers
- Providescare in various clinical settings with diverse person's
servedpopulations. Identifies specific person'sserved needs and
implements person's served centered, compassionate care
- Functionsas a clinical leader, delegating/coordinating staff
assignments and promotingstaff development
- Responsiblefor the utilization and continued review of patient
care protocols, standardsof practice, and standards of care. Gives
input into process for improvement
- Utilizesand promotes careful use of resources
- Maybe responsible in training direct care staff
- Maybe indirectly responsible for oversight of medication and
physical healthactivities in a program
- Maybe responsible for scheduling, staffing, and obtaining
pre-authorizations
- Responsible to role model the mission and values of the
organization, presenting a professional image that is projected in
appearance, attitudes and behaviors, time management and
communication skills. Provides spiritual, emotional, social, mental
and physical support to patients
- In the community residentialsetting required to support and
promote a recovery focused environment andperson-centered approach
within the program
- Commitment todemonstrating the Hospital and Residential
Services Model of Care in hospitaland residential areas
- Responsible to uphold the healingministry of Christ through
relationships that honor integrity, stewardship,empowerment, the
promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and
professionalexcellence
- Mustmaintain annual training and demonstrate competency in the
requiredprogrammatic training
- Performsother duties or functions as assigned
Qualifications:
Therequirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skills, and/orabilities required.
Education/Experience:
- Licensed to practice in the state ofMichigan, Bachelor's Degree
in Nursing is preferred
- May be required to have professionalknowledge of psychiatric
nursing theory as required through completion ofeducation from an
accredited school of nursing
- Satisfactoryprevious clinical experience

- Ability to provide care/service within thescope of: Holding a

- Analyticalskills necessary in order to collect, analyze and
interpret complex patientdata, to determine importance of
information collected and the abilityprovide this data to providers
and other team members as necessary
- Thecandidate may be required to have a valid Michigan driver's
license and abilityaccess Pine Rest Transportation Vehicles for the
performance of job duties
- Continuousexposure to moderately adverse environmental
conditions
- Hearing, visual acuity, manual dexterity, motorcoordination,
strength and endurance are required to control agitated
persons'serve
