SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST or FULLY LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The individual selected for this position will be responsible for: educational assessments of regular education students (suspected of being eligible for special education) and special education students Helping to plan and implement appropriate behavioral intervention techniques SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Initiate,facilitate and/or coordinate REEDS and Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) assessments in response to referrals for students suspected of being eligible for special education Write up and interpret the results of assessments to referral sources and parents Attend REED, IEP meetings, and other meetings Assist the LEA in developing, analyzing, and evaluating individual, group,and system-level interventions Provide consultation to parents,school personnel, students and others Partner with representatives of other agencies in arranging and coordinating services to children with behavioral challenges Complete all forms and reports in a timely manner consistent with ISD policies and procedures Solve problems in a professional, constructive,people-friendly manner Attend relevant professional development activities Support and participate in Multi-Tiered Support of System (MTSS) activities Serve as a Team Coordinator within and between the ISD and local school districts, as needed MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Candidate must meet Michigan State Department of Education criteria for full or temporary approval as a School Psychologist and have at least a Master---s degree. Must have either a valid Michigan School Psychologist certificate or a Preliminary School Psychologist Certificate Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing An ability to relate well to others and use good interpersonal skills Knowledge of behavior management techniques,writing behavior intervention plans, functional behavior analysis, and implementing positive behavioral supports Knowledge of and/or willingness to develop skills in Crisis Prevention Institute(CPI techniques),Applied Behavior Analysis, and other similar programs will be helpful Experience with students with behavioral challenges be helpful WAGES AND BENEFITS According to the WMPF Association contract depending on experience and credentials.
