Position: Director of ITA rapidly growing retail organization based near the lakeshore of West Michigan is seeking to hire a Director of IT. Here are a few reasons you should apply:

The Director of IT will participate as a key member of the leadership team, working to develop the strategic oversight of the information technology department. They are responsible for directing the design, development, and maintenance of systems (hardware/software), network infrastructure, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) to meet the current and future needs of the organization. This individual will provide direction and support for IT policies and procedures, business continuity protocols, establishing KPIs, assessing operating costs, productivity levels, and IT security audits, as well as vendor management and additional projects as needed. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy strategic plans identifying IT applications to support the organization's objectives and build a platform for future growth.
  • Evaluate equipment, software, and processes continuously, recommending changes as appropriate and executing installation.
  • Manage and monitor budget allocations, expenditures, and related financial activities ensuring that allocations are accurate, and expenses are within budget limits.
  • Establish IT policies, standards, practices, and security measures and ensure they are documented, effective, consistent, and repeatable.
  • Create project plans that include the steps required to implement technology initiatives including developing project schedules with appropriate resources, adequate funding, and timely delivery.
  • Participate in all aspects of project deployment including product research, vendor interviewing, contracting, and testing.
  • Coordinate multisite IT systems via enterprise resource planning.
  • Lead a team of professional staff members, including evaluating, coaching, and providing training and professional development as needed.
  • Create communication, collaboration and coordination processes that assure all staff are informed of department policies, issues, and guidance that they are expected to support.Preferred Experience & Qualities:
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology, or related field is preferred.
    • Proven experience as an IT Director or similar role.
    • Leadership experience including managing a team, being involved with coaching, career planning, performance reviews, assessing team needs, etc.
    • Knowledgeable with Strategic Planning and creating an IT roadmap to achieve organization goals and client needs.
    • Experience working with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Server, and Fresh Service is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Epicor ERP Systems (such as Eagle and/or Relex) Software would be beneficial but is not required.
    • Experience working in retail (POS, ERP systems) is preferred.
    • Strong communication & interpersonal skills with ability to interact with clients, vendors, external partners, and internal business groups. Bonus Experience & Qualities:
      • Working knowledge of Epicor ERP Systems (such as Eagle and/or Relex) Software would be beneficial but is not required.
