• Development programs for advancement and career growth -Please review the job profile below and apply today! .The Real Estate Manager analyzes, selects, negotiates, administrates and coordinates Meijer's new store site acquisition and entitlement activities for various retail formats. *Hybrid Schedule offered: Monday-Wednesday in-office, Thursday-Friday flexible/remote days.* What You'll be Doing:
  • Travel to required market areas to strategize overall market, find, evaluate and investigate multi-store site locations for various formats (availability, competitive landscape, economic landscape, property values, access, zoning, development obstacles, timing, etc.)
  • Expected to be the local market knowledge expert for assigned geography
  • Analyzes and defines proposed trade areas for existing and new store in partnership with Real Estate Analytics/Research
  • Collaborates with broader team to assemble information needed for internal approvals and presentations
  • Established local relationships within defined markets
  • Researches and evaluates pertinent data related to market areas and specific sites (population, incomes, growth trends, traffic patterns, competition and sales potential).
  • Negotiates with property owners, brokers, developers and attorneys to control and acquire new store sites.
  • Collaborates with partners in Design, Construction, Legal and Real Estate
  • Manage meetings with development team and drive acquisitions to a closing -
  • Works closely with Development PM to obtains governmental approvals required to develop various Meijer retail concepts including representation at hearing and municipal meetings.

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 7+ years of experience in real estate site selection, acquisition, and entitlements.
    • Must have prior Retail Real Estate experience. -
    • Experience in owned self-developed retail vs build to suit lease preferred
    • Strong deal making history that includes in-fill and new market entry.
    • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, written and communicative skills.
    • Working ability in various software and technology platforms
    • Must possess sound and demonstrated decision making skills, project management, business acumen, interpersonal, leadership, and presentation skills.
