As an - Senior Account Manager - you will be a critical members of
the Employee Benefits Service Team and work side by side with Sales
Executives in managing the submission and proposal processes on new
and existing clients. The objective of a Senior Account Manager is
to retain clients by developing strong relationships built on the
highest degree of customer service and technical knowledge and by
delivering proactive services. A Senior Account Manager also
increases agency revenues by recognizing client needs and providing
advanced technical solutions across insurance brokerage, risk
management, compliance, and claim handling.
Responsibilities
Manage the growth of a designated book of business as relating to
marketing, claims, retention, and account development in
collaboration with Sales Executives, Account Managers, Account
Coordinators, and other support staff.
Provide expertise in strategic planning and proactive advice to
clients, including data analytics, program analysis, and
recommendations for changes to coverage plans
Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships, in
order to provide the highest level of customer service and
effectively negotiate on behalf of clients with carriers and other
service providers.
Demonstrate ability to educate clients and articulate complex
topics in a simple and easy to understand manner.
Keep informed and further industry education, new product
knowledge, legislation, compliance, coverages and technology to
continuously improve knowledge and performance.
Perform insurance policy, coverage, and exposure reviews.
Strengthen client relationships through social engagement.
Identify and develop cross selling opportunities.
Mentor and train entry level and junior members of the Service
Team.
Pursue a program for personal and professional development within
the Alera Group network.
Create and maintain a positive work environment - build trust, open
communication, creative thinking & cohesive teamwork.
Support Lighthouse Group culture through leading by example.
Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed.
Qualifications
Business or related college degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Benefits or in Human Resources
with applicable experience.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse individuals.
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Strong proficiency with Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Holds or willing to obtain Michigan insurance license and complete
continuing education requirements as needed
