The Director of Operations is responsible for managing the daily operations of Youth Services. This individual will ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service that is consistent with COA and agency standards. This individual will provide leadership in hiring, developing, and retaining a high quality and diverse staff. The Director of Operations will work with Director of Youth Services and Director of Programs to translate high-level vision to strategic action steps.
This individual will develop and actively oversee the Youth Services budgets to ensure short- and long-term financial health of the branch. This position is expected to function effectively with little to no supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality client services, consistent with COA and agency standards;
  • Work with staff, Bethany's corporate offices, and government agencies to ensure service provision according to policy adherence;
  • Provide leadership in hiring, developing, and retaining a high quality, diverse, and motivated staff;
  • Work with other leadership staff from other organizations housed in the GR Center for Community Transformation to ensure streamlined processes and systems around vision and strategy;
  • Increase diversification of services, funding sources, and partnership development/management;
  • Oversee department leases, insurance, and overall asset management (including furniture, vehicles, etc.) and the staff who provide maintenance;
  • Provide risk mitigation and act as a liaison between Bethany's Youth Department and corporate office around aspects of finance, insurance, HR, and other key areas;
  • Other duties as assigned. Programmatic Oversight
    • Work with Director of Youth Services and Director of Programs to translate high-level vision to strategic action steps;
    • Provide high-level leadership of evaluation aspects of the Youth Services department;
    • Leadership and planning of all staff training and monthly professional development days;
    • Work with Director of Programs to ensure quality program services are administered; including youth development courses, social enterprise supports/case management, mentoring, YouthBuild, Sexual Risk Avoidance Education, Health Marriage and Relationships Education.
    • Develop and actively oversee the Youth Services budgets; make necessary adjustments according to program and employee performance; ensure short- and long-term financial health of the branch;
    • Work closely with finance and generate to ensure completion of monthly forecasts for programs;
    • Develop and implement any needed action plans to ensure achievement of overall department budget. Community/Donor Engagement
      • Network actively in the community to foster relationships with local churches, governmental agencies and private foundations to enhance the sustainability within the community;
      • Develop and implement the branch fund-raising plans and activities to meet or exceed budgeted contributions;
      • Member of various community committees, boards, or groups for increased visibility and partnership building;
      • Effectively partner with Donor Engagement representatives to increase new donors and to maximize relationships with local top donors. Qualifications:
        • Bachelor's level degree in Management, Finance or related field of study from an accredited college required;
        • At least 7 years of Organizational Operations experience;
        • At least 3 years of experience in Social Services;
        • At least 5 years of successful management, supervisory, program development and administrative experience, including budget development and management;
        • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit with excellent leadership, organizational, networking, and fundraising abilities;
        • Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills;
        • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and other business databases;
        • A commitment to the highest-level standards of professionalism;
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
        • Experience in child/family welfare agency is a plus;
        • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
        • Exercise a high level of confidentiality and integrity;
        • Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;
        • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
