Description MARITIME CHIEF / RELIEF CHIEF ENGINEER POSITION DESCRIPTIONDirect Supervisor: MasterReports To: Engineering ManagerJob Statement:Perform in a professional manner the safe and efficient operation of all vessel machinery. Work with Vessel Master to achieve overall vessel efficiency and safety.Essential Functions:This position rotates between sailing as Relief Chief Engineer and Assistant Engineer. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all machinery on vessel, including preventative maintenance of all machinery.Tools, equipment, parts and supplies to be cleaned, organized, and inventoried.Retain maintenance logs, supply orders, equipment lists, etc.Ensure the Engine Department is operated in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and Andrie Inc. Standard Operating Procedures.Train subordinates as required.Assist Fleet Engineer and Director of Engineering in the efficient planning and execution of approved winter work projects. Position Requirements Job Specification:Possess a valid USCG Engineers License with a minimum of Chief Engineer Limited or a DDE Unlimited.Valid CPR, First Aid, and Fire Fighting Certificates.Knowledge of all vessel systems; hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, diesels, propulsion and auxiliaries.Basic computer skills.Reasonable accommodation, upon request, and if feasible, may be made on behalf of individuals with disabilities or if regarded as disabled that they may perform the essential functions.
