Water Operations/Maintenance Technician (WOM) Work Location:
Midland, TX Monday- Friday (40 hour week) Candidates must be local
to Midland, TX General Job Description: Â The Water
Operations/Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance
tasks to maximize reliability and runtime of recycling and supply
infrastructure. Performs preventative maintenance and light
corrective mechanical duties as needed to operate, maintain, and
repair equipment, and may assist with major repairs. Communicates
clearly with affected personnel on daily tasks and may work alone,
or in teams. Collects samples as needed of supply, effluent,
produced, recycled, and effluent. Works with Water Management, Â
Land, and contractors to construct new facilities. Works at
facilities, ponds, Above Ground Storage Tanks (ASTs), pipeline
valve stations throughout the area, and in remote locations.
Provides support and responds to unplanned conditions as necessary
for daily operations. Keeps all assigned training criteria current.
Responsibilities: Ensure recycling and supply water is managed
properly to provide adequate quantities for scheduled demand.
Coordinate with Water Coordinators to ensure proper PWM water
movements and deliver water to the end user location. Coordinate
Water Supply of Produced Influent water from  Asset Teams with
direction. Operate and manage Above Ground Storage Tanks (ASTs),
tanks, pipelines, frac and fresh ponds, and processing/treating
equipment, and other equipment and assets in assigned area,
including maintenance and inspection. Walk perimeter of assigned
facilities and pipelines for maintenance and inspection. Climb pit
walls and ASTs stairs to visually inspect and verify instruments.
Ensure recycling waste, including NORM, Air Quality, and Oil Skim,
is handled correctly where applicable. Assist in working with water
customers and landowners. Support Control Room operations with
tasks that must be performed manually. Learn proper techniques for
water testing, read test equipment, and gather samples as needed.
Monitor all pipelines and hoses associated with influent and
effluent streams of reuse/recycling. Learn basic operation and
proper maintenance of pumps, compressors, engines, motors, valves,
strainers, filters, piping, ponds, electric panels, water quality
testers, and other related equipment for facilities. Operate,
maintain, and inspect pond, pumping, and water equipment to ensure
proper operation. Check for proper operation, making needed
adjustments and minor/major repairs. Ensure proper security of
assigned facilities. Maintain equipment in accordance with approved
schedules, fulfill work orders, generate work orders for new tasks
required, and balance schedule to respond to unplanned conditions
according to the appropriate priority. Complete assigned work on
time and meet schedules. Perform power washes and cleaning of
equipment as directed. Perform routine housekeeping of assigned
facilities to maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work
environment. Drive to location, gather information, and diagnose
problems to perform minor/major repairs, replace broken parts, etc.
Inform Supervisor at all times with needs for any and all minor and
significant repairs. Relay information to troubleshoot issues. May
perform or help others perform maintenance and repairs. Learn to
recognize abnormal conditions and respond appropriately. Help
decide how to fix, repair, or adjust equipment to retain or recover
lost performance. Detect oil, water, or gas leaks and report them
through the proper channels. Read/record daily volumes, flow rates,
pressures, etc. from lease measurement equipment as needed.
Complete required paperwork (e.g., equipment readings and logs,
preventative maintenance records, work orders, inspection records,
etc.) and submit to office or enter into the computer as
appropriate. Maintain general lease appearances and housekeeping.
Use proper lockout/tag-out procedures. Adhere to all Company HSE
policies, state and local regulations and policies, and know and
use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
Read and follow directions in manufacturers' maintenance manuals,
engineering drawings, Standard Operating Procedures, and
maintenance procedures. Demonstrate continuous efforts to maintain
safety, improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and
streamline work processes. Keep equipment and tools clean and
secure; maintain neat, clean work areas and immediately report any
faulty tools for replacement. Operate, service, wash, and ensure
proper maintenance and security for Company vehicle and other
property issued for which responsible. Drive on varied terrain.
Accurately complete required time sheets, vehicle mileage reports,
equipment servicing reports, daily work sheets, and logs, and other
information requested by timelines from supervisor; submit as
required. May exercise custody and safekeeping over tools and
inventory of spare parts and supplies; notify supervisor of need
for replacements and additional inventory. Maintain log of
materials used for re-supply. May be required to monitor inventory
and report any and all deviations. Know and use appropriate PPE
(Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. Subject to call out
during off-duty times. May relieve other employees. Perform other
duties as assigned by Supervisor. Experience: 1.5 years experience
as a Water Ops/Maintenance Tech, or Produced Water Tech preferred.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills required of the
position. 1.5 years experience in supervising and/or vendor or
contractor oversight. Education: High School education or
equivalent. Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in
writing. Ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions
furnished in written, oral (by phone or conversation), text,
diagram, or schedule forms. Valid operator's license with clean
driving record. Ability to understand and apply basic math. Ability
to communicate effectively over phone (verbal, text, email, Zoom,
etc.). Bilingual is preferred, but not required. Basic (required)
to intermediate (preferred) computer skills required with a
familiarity of the MS Office suite of products, Oracle, SAP (or
equivalent maintenance tracking forum), Excel, Outlook (email).
