SummaryThe Healthcare Compliance Internal Auditor performs
program and compliance related audits of Mary Free Bed
Rehabilitation Hospital's health care related activities, programs,
and enterprises to ensure adequate internal controls are in place
or put in place to safeguard the organization's resources and
ensure that programs are functioning in compliance with all
policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. The Healthcare
Compliance Internal Auditor role is also central to risk assessment
and management needed to identify, correct, prevent, and educate
such that compliance risk is reduced throughout the Mary Free Bed
System. The Healthcare Compliance Internal Auditor is a central
role that drives a positive corporate culture of compliance. The
Healthcare Compliance Internal Auditor reports to Compliance
Officer with a dotted line to the CFO.Essential Job
ResponsibilitiesPerform compliance audits of healthcare related
programs within Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and its
network enterprises.Develop and execute audit plans and prepares
detailed audit work processes.Prepare written reports of audit and
audit findings to include audit recommendations.Perform compliance
testing of transactions and program operations to ensure
conformance with approved regulations, policies, procedures, grant
requirements and laws.Assist with installation of internal control
procedures.Assist in coordinating responses to audit findings by
external auditors, monitors, evaluators, etc.Obtain Statistics and
Information Necessary to Accurately Maintain an Audit Risk System:o
Collect accurate and consistent information needed to maintain a
risk assessment system for all auditable areas, as established.o
Demonstrate knowledge of the risk assessment system by identifying
valid information and significant changes.Maintain awareness of
changes in auditing principles and practices and related areas in
order to maintain professional competence.o Comply with the
standards of professional practice and internal auditing as
established by the Institute of Internal Auditors.Focus on
improving education, communication, and inter-team

service.Essential Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in business
or health management or equivalent work experience.Minimum 2-5
years of work experience in health careExtensive knowledge of
healthcare compliance policies, programs, practices, standards and
related compliance issuesAdvanced knowledge of compliance and
auditing principles, theories and conceptsAuditing, Compliance,
Healthcare billing and/or coding certification preferred.Knowledge
of billing procedures and systems.Demonstrated experience and
success with customer service principles with a diverse group of
peoplePossesses organizational, communication and complex
problem-solving skillsExperience with computers and application
softwareWorks independently and with minimal direction.Works
efficiently and with flexibility in high-stress and fast-paced
