Are you one of those people?About This PositionThe Operational Excellence Specialist for Corporate Accounting (the Specialist) is a strategic partner to the Corporate Accounting team within Acrisure home office operations. The Specialist will assist the leader(s) in the Corporate Accounting team, in the planning, development, and execution of the process improvements, metric development, and training strategy necessary for providing best-in-class services. This individual is expected to act as an advisor and consultant on all things leading to operational excellence in that area; from aiding in the creation of desktop procedures, challenging the current processes, identifying gaps, and suggesting more efficient methods, to insuring proper training, competencies, and curriculum mapping/development plans for the specific roles within the Corporate Accounting team. The Specialist will build strong relationships with the leaders of the Corporate Accounting team and Operational Excellence team, as well as other home office departments within Acrisure and leverage those relationships to service the needs of our Partners and support the strategic objectives and values of Acrisure.The Operational Excellence team focuses on partnering with Acrisure Business Services leaders and Home Office functional/strategic leaders to ensure their teams have everything they need to operate with excellence while providing best-in-class services in accordance with regulatory guidelines for their specific areas. In addition, the Operational Excellence team supports the transforming of the organization to supports its business strategy. It could include supporting a change in the organization's culture, modernizing specific functions, re-designing the organization structure, and will require a combination of change management actions to execute the transformation. To enable our success, it will be critical to use data and insights to inform better ways of working together. This position will be located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting the Corporate Accounting Acrisure home office leader to ensure their team has the tools and resources to provide best-in-class services to Agency Partners, while maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and providing opportunities for career growth. This includes ensuring all processes have associated workflows and desktop procedures, proper training plans, metrics, and quality review procedures. This also ensures that all members of the team have defined role competencies, performance management plans, and career development track.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing operational excellence opportunities.
  • Become fully immersed in the functions of the Corporate Accounting area.
  • Develop, communicate, and adhere to policies, best practices, and procedures relating to the Corporate Accounting area and Acrisure's policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting the Corporate Accounting Acrisure home office leader and subject matter experts on defining proper service metrics to measure success within the various functions in Corporate Accounting (i.e. quantity and quality of work). Also responsible for assisting in the creation and documentation of service level agreement templates, coaching to negotiate service level commitments with Agency Partners, and measuring the adherence to the agreements.
  • Ensure training, development of competencies, and procedures support the delivery of Service Level Agreements with Agency Partners including associated metrics to ensure high performance delivery of expected commitments. Work with managers and employees to identify methods of improving employee performance.
  • Coach subject matter experts at all levels on training preparation and delivery for technical training, as needed. This could include accounting, technology, and soft skill training.
  • Ensure training plans enable a culture of continuous improvement, developing strategies to maximize efficiencies and unlock capacity.
  • Ensure training supports team competency to provide prompt, accurate, courteous, "best in class" service to Partners, insurance companies, leadership team and all staff.
  • Responsible for sharing best practices with agency partners and home office leaders & teams to ensure best in class service.
  • Responsible for reviewing work of others, identifying unresolved issues that need correction/further exploration and evaluating if the proper technical approach was taken.
  • Follow up on projects and team assignments and holds others accountable for their internal deadlines and administrative responsibilities.This description is not meant to be all-inclusive and may be modified from time to time at the discretion of management.Competencies: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in a corporate environment, preferred. Knowledge of (willingness to learn) Lean Six Sigma tools is a plus.Technology: Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, SharePoint, and research tools. Experience in Office 365 is a plus. Accounting software experience, preferred.Other Qualifications:
