POSITION SUMMARY
The Buyer is responsible for the sourcing, material procurement and day to day direction of extended supply base for the Chem Pack operations. POSITION PROFILE Selects, Qualifies, suppliers based on overall financial viability, total cost, quality, delivery, service and engineering expertise, in support of commodity strategy. Develops contracts with selected strategic supplier as required. Provides information to accounting to maintain standard and current cost information on Oracle ERP System. Develop negotiation strategies with suppliers for continuing cost improvement programs, to meet or exceed annual purchase price variance goals. Participates on project (GDP) teams as operations representative as assigned by manager. Assume role as OTL as required. Prepares bids and negotiates terms and conditions for specific materials, parts, and services as assigned. Coordinate production part approval process (PPAP) with finished goods suppliers on new components as well as SEC/EC changes. Negotiate and obtain disposition from suppliers on rejected product. Provide purchasing support for BISSELL USA and export products. Manage day to day commercial issues with suppliers. Lead small groups in problem solving, cost savings projects, supplier selection and purchasing initiatives. Schedule components/materials as needed to support production. Communicate forecasts and other changes to suppliers. May be required to perform other duties as assigned
