Summary: Responsible for the oversight of assigned Regional Accounting Teams to provide best in class agency accounting services which includes complete concierge/single point of contact service as well as all daily processing of direct bill, carrier payables, broker and producer payables, accounts receivable, and cash application for designated Agency Partners. Essential duties will be performed in accordance with U.S. GAAP and will support Acrisure?s management team and agency partners. Work in concert with the staff, Acrisure employees, companies, and customers to support the strategic objectives and values of Acrisure. This position will be located in greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Agency Accounting strategic partner to assigned Agency Partner leadership.
  • Establish relationships as the Agency Accounting strategic partner & Controller for assigned Agency Partners that embody the Acrisure culture.
  • Maintain knowledge of Acrisure and Agency Partner specific policies and procedures and implement consistent compliance with key items while supporting independence in other matters.
  • Partner across other operational areas to ensure successful Agency Accounting onboarding and integration efforts for newly transitioned Agency Partners
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Agency Partner accounting requirements related to day-to-day operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely payments of carriers and producers
  • Direct and manage agency accounting team of 20+ team members, instilling the Acrisure culture of Agency Partner operating independence and team responsibility and accountability.
  • Oversee Agency Partner Accounting Controllers/Concierge to ensure single point of contact for Agency Partners as well as Financial Statement review and reconciliation with agency partners and to Regional Area Directors (RAD); Assist with problem resolution and coaching on team leadership, engagement and development. Work to develop an engagement strategy to ensure high performance of teams as well as robust development and training plans for all team members. This includes ensuring complete and up to date desk top procedures and agency partner fact sheets as well as back-ups for all roles to ensure business continuity and delivery of all service level commitments.
  • Partner with Agency Accounting Operations leadership and others to identify trends or themes relating to improvement opportunities within assigned Agency Partners. Proactively partner with Agency Partner Leadership to maintain awareness and manage plans to improve.
  • Ensure proactive communication with Agency Partners regarding the collection of data required for corporate reporting or other related needs.
  • Collaborate with other Accounting partners in the creation and implementation of progressive initiatives in all Accounting areas.
  • Partner with Associate Director, Accounting Transitions & Special Projects as necessary to ensure the transition of accounting functions from agency partner offices to corporate accounting department. Assist with agency management system cleanup prior to conversions to Acrisure group databases (producer payable transition, initial commission true-ups and payments until comprehended to hand off to accounting staff members). Develop Service Level Agreements with Agency Partners with clear alignment on committed service levels.
  • Work with Accounting Managers and team to develop metrics to ensure high performance delivery of expected service level commitments.
  • Enable a culture of continuous improvement developing strategies to maximize efficiencies and unlock capacity. Responsible for maintaining department spend at or below budgeted levels.
  • Manage and provide direction, support, and guidance as needed to Agency Partner Accounting Managers/staff as well as other Acrisure leaders, e.g., Corporate Controllers.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous, ?best in class? service to agency partners, insurance companies, leadership team and all staff.
  • Develop, communicate, and ensure adherence of policies and procedures relating to Agency Partner accounting, agency management system databases and Acrisure corporate policies & accounting.This description is not meant to be all-inclusive and may be modified from time to time at the discretion of management.Competencies: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Business, or similar discipline or the recognized equivalent in education and experience;
    • Minimum of 5 years? experience in insurance accounting or an equivalent background preferred.Computer Skills:
      • Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
      • Experience with agency management systems (EPIC, AMS360, TAM, AIM, etc.) preferredOther Qualifications:
        • Must be analytical, organized, and detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
        • Must have a high level of problem-solving skills.
        • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within an organization.
        • Demonstrated ability to handle employee relations at all levels is required.
        • Travel up to 20% of the time.
        • Able to develop strategic plans with Agency Partners and Controllers/Concierge
        • Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members as well as senior management and all levels of agency partner organizations
        • Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior and effort to achieve goals and objectives
        • Self-motivated and driven
        • Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet all service level commitments and deadlines
